Diary #2 - Let's Get Down to Business

Dear Diary,

I'm going to take you through my time with Indigo so far - approx. May 2010 - Feb 2011 (now)

My favorite trainer ever showed me this horse who she referred to as "a diamond in the rough", and naturally, I started riding him. He was 4 years old then, and didn't have too much training on him. He was broke, walk/trot - but barely canter. Anyway, here are some pictures!

To help you along, to know where and why these pictures take place, I'll go through our "adventures"..

1. Riding at his first barn
2. Moving to a new barn
3. Riding at the new barn
4. Laura Vello clinic at Laura's barn
5. Pony Club camp
6. Jim Graham clinic in West Virginia
7. New barn for the winter

developing muscles -- little by little  ps. him and my dog Denver are bffs! every time i take Den to the barn, you say "Go say hi to Indy," and she runs into the barn, and stands on her back legs to lick his muzzle! It's great!

Diary #1 - Welcome!

Dear Diary,

This past summer, I have began to lease a horse named Indigo. He is a Dutch Warmblood x Thoroughbred cross, and is five years old. He stands at 16.2 hands, and I am currently training him to be an eventing horse.

This horse has come from standing in a stall doing absolutely nothing, with no turn-out, to working hard at blossoming as a horse. He can be very crazy at times, but absolutely loves to jump and go cross-country. He surely is a handful.

I am going to keep you updated on all our adventures, thrills, spills, and more throughout this blog/diary, and hopefully you'll join us for the ride!

Yours truly,
Gillian and Indy
